Fix a sample that was filed in the wrong place

Move it. Dragging it to the right folder is the whole fix — and it is honestly all that happens.

Drag the file to the folder it should have been in, in the Finder or in the web app. That is the fix. It moves immediately, everywhere, and the move is not treated as a new upload, so it is not re-analysed or re-sorted.

What moving it does not do

It does not teach Prod Crate anything. We would rather be straight about this: today a manual move moves that one file and nothing else. The next pack you upload with similar files will be sorted exactly the same way it would have been before.

Learning from corrections is something we want to build, and it is not built. When it exists it will be in the Changelog, and it will be something you switch on, not something that starts quietly.

A whole pack in the wrong place

Select the files and move them in one go — a multi-file move is a single operation and is as fast as moving one. Once a file has been moved by hand it is marked as placed, so nothing will move it again later.

If the key or BPM is wrong

Open the file’s info panel and edit the field. Your value replaces the detected one, search picks it up straight away, and it is never overwritten by analysis again.

If it happens constantly

Turn off sorting for that folder in Settings › Sorting. Everything you put there lands in the Inbox and waits for you. Some people run their own naming scheme and prefer this; it is a supported way to work, not a workaround.
