Recover a deleted file

Deleted files sit in Recently deleted for 30 days. Restore puts them back in the folder they came from.

Deleting a file does not remove it right away. It goes to Recently deleted and stays there for 30 days.

Getting it back

  1. Open the web app and go to Recently deleted in the sidebar.
  2. Find the file. The list shows when it was deleted, how long is left, and the folder it lived in; you can search it like any other view.
  3. Select it and choose Restore. It goes back to its original folder, which is recreated if you deleted that too.

Deleting in the Finder behaves the same way: moving a file out of the Prod Crate location into the macOS Trash removes the local copy and puts the library item into Recently deleted. Emptying the macOS Trash does not empty ours.

After 30 days

The file is purged and we cannot bring it back. There is no hidden second copy and no way for support to undo it — so if you are unsure, restore it now and delete it again later.

A project with missing samples

Do not hunt file by file. Open the project in Prod Crate, look at its Linked samples panel, and use Restore all — every deleted sample the session references comes back at once, in the paths the session expects.

Freeing the space sooner

Files in Recently deleted still count toward your storage. Delete permanently, on a file or on the whole bin, frees it immediately and cannot be undone.
